SÍLVIA BRITO

Degree in History from the Faculty of Arts of the Lisbon's Classic University.

She began her theatrical activity in the "Cénico de Direito" in 1985. She joined the cast of the National Theater D. Maria II (1990-92). In 1992, she joined A ESCOLA DA NOITE - Theatre Group of Coimbra, where she worked until 2010 in the areas of acting, directing, training and documentation. As an actress, she took part in more than thirty creations on that company. There, she directed, among other shows, M. Kundera's "Jacques and his Master", Gil Vicente's "Almocreves and other things ...", Plinio Marcos's "Two Lost in a Dirty Night", Profundo de Cabrujas, TNT-Riot in the Theater, by Raul Brandão and East West Eden, by Abel Neves. In 2002 she joined CENA LUSÓFONA - Portuguese Association for Theatrical Interchange where she developed, among others, the Database Project of Dramaturgy in the Portuguese Language. In 2011 she created, with António Jorge, the project of creation, training, and artistic programming RAZÕES POÉTICAS - informal association of arts where she develops creation and artistic training in cross-cutting of professional, amateur and community activities. In 2012, she worked as Direction Adviser at CHAPITÔ in the area of ​​Artistic Education. Since 2012, she collaborates regularly with CTB-COMPANHIA DE TEATRO DE BRAGA (Theatre Company of Braga), where she joined the cast of the Oresteia Trilogy, of Aeschylus (directed by Rui Madeira, 2012-2013), The Musicians of Bremen (directed by José Caldas), Destination, by Thomas Bernhard (directed by Rui Madeira, 2015), The Machine of the World (directed by Alexej Schipenko, 2015), Oratória do Vento, by Virgílio Alberto Vieira (directed by Rui Madeira, 2015), The Last Jew and Others (written and directed by Abel Neves, 2016), The Maids, by Jean Genet (directed by Rui Madeira), Imprudence by Turguéniev (directed by Rui Madeira, 2017) and The Woman Before by Schimmelpfennig (directed by Toni Cafiero, 2018). At Theatre Company of Braga, she staged the shows Em Pessoa (texts by Fernando Pessoa, 2014) and Amor de Perdição (by Camilo Castelo Branco, 2017). She regularly conducts Reading and Interpreting Workshops and Directed Readings within the scope of the BragaCult project for primary and secondary school teachers and students and the general public.
