The ability to say "no" is one of the themes addressed by Camus in his Man in Revolt. And putting a "no" where it was written a "yes" is what makes Raimundo Silva, the reviewer who stars in "History of the Siege of Lisbon". But the affirmation (by the negation) of this Saramaguian character will serve as starting point for the creation: in this case, the writing of a "History of the Siege of Lisbon" in which the Crusaders "do not" assist D. Afonso Henriques in the conquest of the city. And from this "no" will also appear a love story, between the reviewer and the literary director Maria Sara ‐ shaped, in a way, in the characters of the soldier Mogueime and the mistress Ouroana. The adaptation of José Gabriel Antuñano goes to (and goes beyond) the central theme of Saramago's novel: the frontier between reality and fiction, as well as the redemption through love.
