Portuguese classic considered the precursor of the new forms of the Renaissance. Man for whom life and work were one piece. Present and superior to the middle and the time in which he lived. There is in his work a passion for social justice, very rare in the men of his time. There is no disdain for the people in the other Horacian humanists. From the point of view of the understanding of the social phenomenon none of his contemporaries had risen so high.
